Psychological
consultation and coaching

For expats and students in the Netherlands – in person and online

Live with more freedom, awareness and balance – guided by your values, on your own path.

I help you establish a positive relationship with yourself and find inner balance – so you can more easily overcome obstacles in a new environment.

My goal is to help you discover the resources within you that allow you to change patterns and habits that are not constructive for you, and to create a life in which  you can live more freely, consciously, and in balance  – in harmony with yourself and your environment.

At the heart of the process  is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)  –
modern, scientifically based method that helps:

  • develop a more accepting relationship with difficult feelings and thoughts,
  • to be more consciously present,
  • and to act according to your values, even in the midst of uncertainty or fear.

This is not “just a conversation”, but  practical, value-based work that
supports you in  responding more flexibly to life’s challenges ,
and  in getting into an authentic relationship with yourself and overcoming obstacles more easily. In addition to ACT, I draw on several evidence-based methods in my work as a therapist, tailored to the unique needs of my clients (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Systems Therapy, Mentalization-Based Therapy).

What can I help you with

  • stress, anxiety, uncertainty, depressive symptoms
  • adjustment difficulties, homesickness
  • low self-esteem, perfectionism, overthinking
  • study pressure
  • life direction, relationship or identity issues
  • emotional blocks, grief, accepting change
  • creating a healthy lifestyle

I especially enjoy working with Hungarian students and expats in the Netherlands, who wish to process their experiences in a safe, native-language environment and find their own direction.

Who I cannot help

The consultation is not psychiatric treatment and not crisis intervention.
I cannot provide adequate support if:

  • there is a severe psychological disorder (e.g., psychosis, personality disorder),
  • there is disorientation in time, place or person,
  • there is an inability to self-reflect or to cooperate,
  • very intensive, daily-level support is required,
  • IQ is below 80, or the cognitive level does not allow collaboration,
  • or if participation is not voluntary.

If necessary, I can help you find the right professional or service.

    ~ Kata (21) ~

Gabriella listened to me without judgment, and her spot-on, thought-provoking questions helped me see certain things in a new light. It was especially helpful that she studied in both Hungary and the Netherlands, as she truly understood my situation and helped me adapt to a different way of thinking. I reached out to her during a very stressful period, and by the end of the process I felt lighter and more confident.

      ~ Róbert (25) ~

Talking with Gabriella brought a real sense of relief. Our conversations helped me better understand and eventually let go of old burdens. I now have much more clarity about what I want in life and what truly matters to me. With her support, I found new ways of dealing with long-standing difficulties, and since then I make decisions in a much more conscious way.

        ~ Joost (35) ~

I felt very safe and supported through our sessions. She was genuinely interested in my values and what I want, and guided me without telling me what to do. Some questions felt uncomfortable at the time, but I later realized they often sparked change. Our sessions helped me slow down, listen to my body, move toward a healthier lifestyle, and let go of an old habit that no longer served me.
