ACT Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Belongs to the third generation of cognitive-behavioural therapies.
Its essence lies not in changing or removing unpleasant feelings or thoughts, but in developing a healthier relationship with them.
When we stop fighting our emotions and inner experiences, and instead allow them to be present, inner change begins.
This frees up energy to act according to our values and live a meaningful, authentic life.
ACT is based on mindfulness and aims to develop psychological flexibility – the ability to move toward what is important to us even when we experience difficult emotions.
ACT does not aim to eliminate suffering but to cultivate an accepting relationship with it.
It helps us break free from negative thought spirals, let go of “I’ll be happy when…” patterns, and live a life that we truly find valuable.
